I found this great new magazine Sew Stylish at the grocery store recently. It is the premiere issue, Spring 2007. It has helpful articles on basic sewing, setting up your sewing area, zipper installation, purse making and even a free pattern that you can send away for and only pay shipping and handling.
I especially liked the bag making article A Purse for Every Occasion and the Ideal Dress article. There are lots of really useful, meaty articles perfect for both quick and longer projects. It is geared for a less experienced sewing crowd and is less 'purist' oriented sewing, making it much more approachable for the average or newer crafter or sewer. Plus, the fashions and ideas seem much more contemporary. At the cover price of $6.99 it is a bargain, and more so at the subscription price. This is a great magazine to add to your sewing and crafting library.
