Sneak Peek !!

I've had a rough and tumble last few months, getting set up and getting adapted to a new place. I love the coast though and love all the fun things to explore here.

I've decided to open a new website, although I will likely not keep the Andelonie shop. I am finding it hard to upkeep. I expect to reopen my etsy shop soon. I will keep the bulk of my work on my own site, where it will be more convenient to sell and advertise.

I am working on a line of wedding and special occasion dresses and skirts that will be available soon. I will also bring in a new feature soon. Rather than have only one of a kind clothing, I will have a few designs that can be made in several sizes. That way, my designs will be more accessible. Here are a few pics from some of the almost finished pieces in my studio.

What will spring bring ??

Now with fall's splendor turned to the brown stalks and darker light of winter, my thoughts are turned to spring and it's wonderful color. It's an inevitable fact that winter brings a deep craving for the raw glory of spring greens and yellows. I love the quintessential spring combination of green with the purples and whites of spring bulbs.

As a designer, I've taken time off to brood over the spring direction I'm taking and to work on planning. Since I found shop-keeping a distraction, I've closed my etsy.com shop for now. I am thinking of winter as a time to refresh and regroup...to plan my spring designs like a garden. I get excited peeking into other's shops, as well and seeing their creativity. It sparks creative bursts in me and I hope to express some of that here in this blog.

Weddings are a springtime perennial and I am hoping to produce more wedding and other event dresses. Here's one I completed with a few model pics. I love the simplicity and the ingenue feel of this design.

Spring brings weddings and proms!

Are you ready for spring and summer's bevy of formal events ??? Proms, weddings, dressy occasions all demand we look our best and invariably what you wore the last time just won't do for this event!!

I've been steadily working on increasing my tiny collection of dresses and formal occasion wear. I have just listed a wedding dress and have another extra small to small dress almost done. This week I also posted new pics of a formal dress I've had for a little while and added a new light purple formal strapless dress.

Keep checking back to find your perfect formal as I finish up the ones I'm working on. I'll also be able to post a few formal dresses from etsy.com's great bunch of dress designers!

Alternative DIY Wedding Dress

I had fun constructing this fun very different wedding dress. I began with a simple white denim sheath with a touch of spandex. I cut and added and encouraged fraying! I gave it trim from four different fabrics with more and less body. The last I used as dangling panels which I washed to give it a dreadlocks style twisting and fraying. The base panel has a filmy layer and the little flower at the neckline is made of the same filmy fabric. I was being green and alternative! Woo! What I like about the dress is that you get the beauty of a traditional dress with a tiny little edge. That makes me happy !
