Today was the first day I felt like doing anything productive in over a week. After being sick I am enjoying breathing, eating and feeling more alive than dead. Happily spring has put in a wonderful warm three days and although it's cooling down a bit for the weekend, hopes are strong that it has come to stay. Flowers are blooming and the daffodils are out. Trees are blossoming and bees are back to work.
I love perennial plants because they come back in a sunny corner of the garden even this early. That amazes me because the garden has suffered from 'crafter's neglect'. I love to garden, but can only put in a few days, here and there.
I am so happy I have the bulbs and verbena that come back to life on the first warm days. This lovely purple flower is hardy to a fault. I can drag it out, scrape it up and mow it down and it finds a warm sunny corner and goes to town at the slightest encouragement.
This year, especially, I am glad for flowers.
